Job Summary
Occupational Therapist provides comprehensive therapeutic services across inpatient, outpatient, pediatric, and geriatric settings. Responsibilities include reviewing referrals and medical history, conducting evaluations and re-evaluations, developing and documenting treatment plans, administering prescribed occupational therapy treatments, creating custom equipment, developing programs for functional skills, daily activities, and vocational training, monitoring progress, participating in patient care conferences, and educating patients and families on home treatment procedures. Requires licensure in the state of practice and typically 2 years of experience in an equivalent setting. May involve coordination with physicians and other care team members and adherence to department protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of current practice or meet qualifications for traineeship or temporary license in the state of current practice (required)
- BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, required within 30 days for BSMH, required at hire for RSFH)
- Experience: 2 years in equivalent setting (preferred)
- Demonstrates ability to apply age-specific standards, policies and procedures
- Interpersonal and communication skills for working with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
