Job Summary
Occupational Therapist, Acute Care (Adults) provides direct patient care, assesses patients, develops and initiates treatment plans based on evaluations, documents findings, and guides patients and caregivers. The role may involve supervising Level II/III OT staff and students/interns, and potentially serving as a clinical instructor. The schedule is Mon-Fri with occasional weekend coverage at Memorial Hermann in The Woodlands, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university-based Occupational Therapy program
- Current or temporary License to practice Occupational Therapy by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners
- Current certification in Basic Life Support
- Ability to lift up to 75-100 pounds and carry up to 30 pounds; prolonged standing; frequent walking; stooping and squatting
- Fine hand dexterity and eye-hand coordination; ability to receive and communicate orally and in writing
- Knowledge of testing and measurement related to occupational performance; ability to interpret evaluation findings; develop and implement plans of care; monitor progress and adjust goals as needed
- Experience supervising assistants and rehabilitation technicians; may serve as clinical instructor for OT/OTA interns
- Demonstrates commitment to safety, compassionate care, and adherence to policies
