Job Summary
Assess patients for occupational therapy intervention needs and implement treatment programs based on physician orders, including neuromuscular training, sensory perception exercises, and gait analysis. Develop individualized treatment plans with patient input, conduct diagnostic tests for strength, cognition, and functional ability, and perform complex therapies such as proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and splinting. Direct Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students, evaluate treatment progress, and modify plans as necessary while maintaining accurate documentation and reporting to the interdisciplinary team. Respond to medical emergencies, participate in performance improvement initiatives, and provide coverage for absences. Licensed in Tennessee with current CPR/BLS certification required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved program for Occupational Therapy
- Qualified by education, training or experience to work with the neonate, infant, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patients
- Licensed to work in state of TN as an Occupational Therapist
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- At least 1 year experience in occupational therapy as obtained through completion of an approved Occupational Therapy program
