Job Summary
Occupational Safety and Health Specialist responsible for building and maintaining a world-class safety program across stores, driving employee engagement through frequent store visits, conducting safety audits, coaching to build safety culture, leading meetings and training for internal and external customers, managing the Near Miss program, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, and EPA requirements. The role requires coordinating safety initiatives, participating in safety programs, and performing other safety/environmental tasks as needed, leveraging strong regulatory knowledge and customer-focused communication. Preferred qualifications include bilingual abilities in Spanish and certifications such as ASP, CSP, CIH, or CPE. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, or related field
- 3+ years of professional experience
- Strong customer service focus
- Ability to communicate with all levels of employees
- Excellent organizational skills
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, auditing software)
- Understanding of complex regulatory requirements and ability to explain them
- Public speaking skills
- Ability to work in a variety of environments and conditions
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR
