Occupational Health Nurse

Job Summary
Provide timely emergency and non-emergency medical care for workplace injuries and illnesses, partnering with plant EMTs as needed. Administer nursing care within scope of practice while managing workers' compensation claims and ensuring accurate documentation in external systems. Conduct comprehensive employee medical testing including spirometry, audiometry, vision, labs, and drug screening. Maintain accurate health records in Cority software and oversee calibration of all medical equipment. Coordinate immunization programs, administer wellness initiatives, and provide health counseling. Manage medical leaves and schedule physician care for physicals and return-to-work evaluations. Develop medical policies, support budgeting, and maintain inventory of medical supplies. Work Monday through Friday in the 1st shift at our Painesville, OH manufacturing site.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum of five years of experience providing patient care in a clinical or occupational setting
- Minimum of two years of experience in phlebotomy
- Strong knowledge of general nursing practices, occupational health principles, and compliance standards
- Ability to manage confidential medical information with discretion and integrity
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in medical documentation systems and digital tools
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in occupational health or emergency medicine
- Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN or COHN-S)
- Current National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved spirometry training
- Current Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) audiometry certification
- Drug screen collection certification or training
- Experience working with Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
