Job Summary
Occupancy Specialist I supports Housing Choice Voucher Program processes, determines eligibility, verifies income and other data, maintains applicant/participant records, conducts briefings, assists families with locating housing and relocation services, coordinates relocation and voucher briefings, and provides concierge services for relocation projects. Role requires interviewing applicants, assisting with required documentation, preparing correspondence, updating agency databases, and traveling to off-site locations for meetings and trainings; schedule is part-time (32 hours/week) with weekday daytime hours.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of one year of professional experience in a social service setting
- Valid driver\'s license
- Must successfully complete the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) Specialist course within six months of hire and obtain a passing score on the HCVP Specialist Certification Exam within one year of hire
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, landlords, community partners, and agency staff
