Job Summary
OB/GYN locum physician needed to provide urgent, short-term coverage across hospital call and potential clinic duties. Responsibilities include OB/GYN care in hospital (labor and delivery, postpartum) and clinic settings, performing C-sections, vaginal deliveries, suction D&C, and management of ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and abnormal bleeding. Handle low- to moderate-risk cases with MFM involvement for high-risk patients. Respond to minimal call volume; mix of hospital call and optional clinic coverage. Work with a team of 4 physicians, OBHG hospitalist, surgical assistants, and nursing staff, with ~2-3 nursery admissions per day. Use EPIC EMR for documentation. Credentialing typically takes days with temporary privileges possible. Preference for local candidates.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified in OB/GYN (required)
- Active Virginia medical license (required)
- Active VA DEA and CSR (required)
- ABOG certification and BLS (required)
- Ability to cover both clinic and call shifts (required)
- Availability for listed dates (required)
- Clean malpractice/background history (required for temporary privileges)
- Self-query NPDB report required at presentation
