Job Summary
Lead clinical supervision and educational activities for residents, medical students, and advanced practice professionals across the Women's Health Center, Beginnings Maternity Center, and operating rooms at THRHMC. Guide service delivery to ensure high standards of patient care and safety while promoting quality improvement initiatives. Develop solo practice sessions and collaborate with the Program Director on programmatic research, grant funding, and resident research oversight. Manage departmental education programs including undergraduate and graduate medical education, interprofessional collaboration, and continuing medical education. Participate in residency staff development planning, recruitment, and retention, while mentoring residents through their transition to chief residency and career paths. Assist in cost-effective resource utilization and program development, ensuring compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws and ACGME requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Pennsylvania Medical License
- ACOG Board Certification or Board eligibility in general Obstetrics and Gynecology
- ACOG and other board specialty organizations membership as eligible and relevant
- Commitment to education
- Commitment to enhancing patient care and the advancement of medical knowledge through the conduct of clinical research and support of quality and patient safety endeavors
- Respected as an excellent clinician
- Ability to facilitate recruitment of resident staff and to enhance the stature of the residency program, as well as to facilitate collaborative activities
- Collaborative working style, sensitive to the issues of the Resident & Medical Staff
- Progressive and forward thinking, with ideas to foster growth and quality of the education programs and the clinical learning environment
- Excellent communication skills
