Job Summary
Provide specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology care to inpatient and ambulatory patients across Royal Darwin Hospital, regional hospitals, and remote communities. Conduct regular ward rounds, outpatient sessions, and theatre sessions while incorporating teaching and offering specialist opinions to referring practitioners. Participate in specialist outreach services and an on-call roster for emergency after-hours care. Supervise junior medical staff in accordance with regional and unit policies. Actively support educational activities, including undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, peer review, and research. Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to contribute to unit and hospital policies. Actively participate in continuous quality improvement activities, including audit and guideline development. Follow defined service quality standards and work health and safety policies. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in cross-cultural environments
- A commitment to improving Indigenous health
- Evidence of commitment to teaching and learning, research, and continuous quality improvement

Desired Qualifications
- Experience in clinical governance, risk management and/or policy, strategy development
