Observability Engineer

Job Summary
Build and scale enterprise-grade observability across logs, metrics, traces, APM, RUM, and security use cases to enable reliable, secure, and high-performing services. Define reusable standards for dashboards, alerting, and logging while embedding telemetry quality into cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. Partner with engineering, SRE, security, and operations teams to improve incident detection, service reliability, and time to resolution through self-service tools, documentation, and executive-level transparency. Work closely with colleagues in Bangalore and global Nasdaq teams to advance economic progress across 50 countries.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 years working in IT field as system administrator or DevOps field
- Strong hands-on experience with Datadog across logs, metrics, APM, dashboards, and monitors
- Solid understanding of observability principles, including telemetry types, SLOs, distributed tracing, and reliability metrics
- Proficiency in Python for automation, instrumentation, and integrations
- Practical experience with AWS and Azure monitoring services and their integration into observability platforms
- Experience with DevOps tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred)
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or I.T.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience operating observability platforms at scale in complex or high-volume environments
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and container-based observability patterns
- Familiarity with instrumenting OpenTelemetry
- Background in SRE, production operations, or performance engineering
