Job Summary
Assess and plan resident care, deliver standard nursing procedures, administer medication, and document in compliance with legislation. Manage Neonatal Resuscitation, Breastfeeding, Fetal Health Surveillance, OR, and Post-partum OBS certifications alongside B.C.L.S. certification. Communicate client and family needs to the medical team, read prescriptions, and complete incident reports. Adapt to change and cover on-call and weekend shifts as required. Maintain satisfactory attendance and work performance while accommodating flexible scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- Current certificate of registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Must be compliant with College of Nurses quality assurance standards
- Current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation (N.R.P.)
- Breastfeeding course
- Fetal Health Surveillance
- OR and Post-partum OBS courses
- Current B.C.L.S Certification
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively and co-operatively with all levels of staff, patients and the public
- Demonstrated good communication, organizational and time management skills
- Proven ability to adapt readily to change
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
- 1-2 years' experience in OBS Labour and Delivery and Post partum
- Ability to communicate in English, both oral and written
- Ability to effectively explain and convey the client or family needs to the medical team
- Ability to read medical prescriptions and complete incident report form
- Ability to accommodate and cover on-call & weekend shifts
- Eligible Candidates must be flexible in terms of scheduling
- Advanced Pediatric Life Support (PALS)
- CNO Registration
- CPR / First Aid Certification
- VSC (within 6mths from the date of issue)
