Job Summary
OBGYN RN Nights provides patient-centered obstetric nursing care in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery. The RN coordinates and delivers high-quality care per the nursing process, administers prescribed medications, assists with epidurals and pain management during labor, monitors fetal well-being via electronic fetal monitoring, educates patients and families on pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care, collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, adheres to infection control protocols, documents care thoroughly, and participates in performance improvement and audits to enhance outcomes. Requires an active RN license and BCLS; ACLS/PALS/NRP are preferred. Schedule is Full Time nights (7pm-7am) with the Foley, AL location.
Required Qualifications
- RN - Registered Nurse license required for state licensure and/or compact licensure
- BCLS - Basic Life Support required
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation preferred
- 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required
- Knowledge of nursing process and clinical nursing practices
- Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively
- Proficient in administering medications and monitoring for side effects
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care
- Knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives
