Job Summary
OBGYN Hospitalist responsible for full-time laborist coverage in the Labor and Delivery Unit, collaborating with obstetricians, certified nurse midwives, and a team of maternity specialists. Role includes teaching and potential participation in clinical research within an Academic Clinician track at Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank. The team delivers high-risk obstetric care with advanced technology, and the department handles around 2,600 births per year. Requires board-certified/eligible OB/GYN, strong surgical and operative vaginal delivery skills, and clear patient safety focus. 12-hour shifts with 2–4 days per week are anticipated.
Required Qualifications
- Board certified/eligible in general obstetrics and gynecology
- Superior surgical and operative vaginal delivery skills
- Experience in evidence-based obstetric care and teaching
- Experience collaborating with certified nurse midwives; interest in clinical research
- Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts (2-4 days each week)
- Monitoring laboring patients and delivering unassigned patients
- Direct record of safety
- Strong communication with patients and attending physicians
- Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school; Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology
