Job Summary
OBGYN Hospitalist opportunity in Greenwich, CT within a large academic-affiliated obstetrics program. Responsible for full-time laborist duties in the Labor and Delivery Unit, collaborating with board-certified physicians, nurses, and midwives to manage routine and high-risk obstetric patients. Roles include supervising and delivering patients, teaching residents/fellows and participating in clinical research. The team handles high-volume maternity care with emphasis on patient safety and advanced technology; position includes 12-hour shifts (2-4 days/week) and potential academic appointment at Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level in the Academic Clinician track. Desirable candidates will have strong operative vaginal delivery skills, evidence-based obstetric care experience, and effective communication with patients and the care team.
Required Qualifications
- Board certified/eligible in general obstetrics and gynecology
- Superior surgical and operative vaginal delivery skills
- Experience demonstrating excellence in evidence-based obstetric care and teaching
- Experience in collaborating with certified nurse midwives and an interest in participating in and conducting clinical research
- Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts (2-4 days each week)
- Experienced in monitoring laboring patients as well as delivering unassigned patients
- Direct record of safety
- Strong communication skills with patients and attending physicians
- Patient safety focus
- Education and Training: Medical School: Complete a medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited program. Residency: Complete an accredited residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology
