Job Summary
Assist with the nursing care of patients in the procedural suite by performing routine and delegated duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Set up and clean up after each scheduled and unscheduled procedure while demonstrating knowledge of instruments and equipment used in the specialty services at DCH. Apply principles of aseptic practice, maintain safety standards, and actively participate in committees and team member selection. Complete initial and annual competency per job class, attend inservices and educational workshops, and adhere to all hospital policies and behavioral standards. Work 12-hour shifts with physical demands including lifting up to 100 pounds and standing for prolonged periods.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of College Anatomy and Physiology I course
- Certified Central Sterile Processing Technician
- Completed Central Sterile Processing certification
- Completed a hospital approved Surgical Tech certificate course
- Operating Room or equivalent experience preferred
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider training
- Ability to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English
- Must be able to tolerate prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, sit, stoop and lift
- Must be able to run in an emergency
- Must possess stamina to work 12-hour shift
- Physical presence onsite is essential
