Job Summary
OB Hospitalist role in Des Moines, IA for a BC/BE OBGYN joining MercyOne's OB Hospitalist service. 84 annual 24-hour shifts with a flexible schedule and no call. Care for OBED patients and unassigned emergent cases (vaginal deliveries and C-sections); ~1400 annual OBED visits with 1/3 resulting in delivery. Access to subspecialists including MFM; Iowa's only maternal transport team; adjunct faculty in Family Medicine Residency. Annual base salary $400,000 with $150,000 recruitment incentive, moving allowance up to $15,000, paid malpractice with tail, retirement plans, CME allowance, PSLF eligible, and J-1/H-1B candidates encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications
- Board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology (BC/BE OBGYN)
- D/E/T license to practice medicine in Iowa or applicable state licensing requirements
- Des Moines, IA-based OB Hospitalist role or willingness to relocate to Des Moines area
- J-1 and H1-B visa candidates encouraged to apply
- Ability to perform obstetric procedures including vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
- Commitment to 24-hour shift blocks and hospital-based coverage
- Eligibility for or participation in PSLF program would be beneficial
