OB/GYN Physician – Outpatient Prenatal Care & Gynecology

Job Summary

Provide comprehensive outpatient obstetric and gynecologic care, including new and established visits, annual well-woman exams, cervical-cancer screening, and preconception counseling. Manage routine prenatal patients, review laboratory and ultrasound findings, and coordinate maternal-fetal medicine or specialty consultation for higher-risk conditions. Perform common office procedures such as colposcopy, IUD insertion/removal, and contraceptive implant management. Collaborate with certified nurse-midwives and hospital-based teams to ensure timely handoffs and postpartum follow-up. Complete accurate documentation, review results promptly, and maintain patient continuity through pregnancy and recovery.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree
  • Completion of an accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency
  • Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Active and unrestricted New York medical license, or clear eligibility to obtain one
  • Current New York registration before beginning independent practice
  • Active DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain one
  • Current NPI and eligibility for Medicare, Medicaid and commercial-payer enrollment
  • Eligibility for professional malpractice coverage
  • Eligibility to participate in federal and state healthcare programs
  • Demonstrated competency in outpatient prenatal and gynecologic care
  • Strong clinical judgment and escalation practices
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work consistently at the Brooklyn location

Desired Qualifications

  • Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Two or more years of outpatient OB/GYN experience
  • Experience managing a substantial prenatal patient panel
  • Current competency in common outpatient gynecologic procedures
  • Experience coordinating with laborists, hospitalists or hospital-based obstetric teams
  • Experience with Medicare, Medicaid and diverse community populations
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks or a comparable electronic medical record
  • Experience in a community-based or multisite medical practice
  • Interest in quality improvement, protocol development or physician leadership
  • Additional language skills relevant to the Brooklyn patient population
