Job Summary
Greet guests and incoming calls, set up exam rooms, and assist providers with office exams and procedures. Perform patient intake, enter lab and x-ray orders into the EMR, and administer injections while maintaining drug supplies. Process prescription refills, complete prior authorizations, and schedule follow-up appointments. Communicate with patients regarding lab results, medications, and symptoms, then chart all contacts and file reports. Maintain mammogram and PAP smear logs, clean exam rooms, and ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and MMC policies. Work full-time in an office setting with flexible hours as needed. Requires current nursing license in Tennessee or Medical Assistant Program completion.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program
- current nursing License in the state of Tennessee (LPN)
- Knowledgeable of the female anatomy
- Be knowledgeable of and adhere to all HIPAA and OSHA guidelines
- Be knowledgeable of and adhere to all MMC policies and procedures
- Must complete all Healthstream assignments on time
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong skills in communicating effectively with co-workers, providers, and patients
- Ability to conduct daily functions in an appropriate, professional, and compassionate manner
- Ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks in an efficient and timely manner
- Attention to detail and well organized
- Teamwork attitude
- Flexibility to respond to changing demands
- Ability to react calmly and competently in stressful situations
- Effectively utilize computer systems and programs that are necessary to complete daily tasks
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
- Be flexible when asked to stay past your scheduled work time
