Job Summary
Provide on-site physician coverage for Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and antepartum units throughout scheduled shifts. Manage labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care, including high-risk obstetric cases, while performing vaginal and operative deliveries as indicated. Evaluate and manage inpatient and emergency department obstetric and gynecologic consults, respond to obstetric emergencies, and perform urgent and emergent gynecologic procedures including laparoscopic surgery. Collaborate closely with nursing staff, anesthesia, neonatology, and maternal-fetal medicine to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality care. Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and clinical protocols while ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant inpatient documentation and billing.
Required Qualifications
- MD, DO Degree
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited OB/GYN residency program
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Active and unrestricted state medical license
- DEA registration (or eligibility)
- Ability to manage emergent situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care
