Job Summary
OB/GYN Benefits Coordinator provides clerical support in the OB/GYN department, greets patients and callers, verifies insurance benefits, completes FMLA and disability paperwork, schedules prenatal and counseling appointments, and ensures accurate documentation and billing. The role emphasizes professional, compassionate patient service, adherence to HIPAA/OSHA guidelines, accurate data collection (demographic and insurance information), and effective use of billing/payments processes. Strong teamwork, multitasking, and flexible attendance to accommodate patient needs are required, along with proficient computer system usage and a commitment to meeting the expectations of patients, doctors, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Experience preferred but not required
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication with patients, co-workers, and providers
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a healthcare setting
- HIPAA and OSHA guidelines awareness
