Job Summary
Welcome guests promptly and warmly, managing reservations, waitlists, and walk-ins using OpenTable to optimize seating flow and estimate wait times accurately. Escort guests to tables while coordinating assignments with leadership and service staff to maximize efficiency. Maintain the cleanliness of the host stand, menus, and lobby area, ensuring all materials are current and presentation is impeccable. Answer telephone calls professionally, assist with special requests and VIP accommodations, and process guest payments including cash and credit card transactions. Monitor dining room activity, observe guest satisfaction, and communicate concerns to management. Maintain composure in a fast-paced environment, adhere to Fairmont policies and safety regulations, and support sustainability initiatives. Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous customer service experience
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
- Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, and navigate a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Communicate information clearly, professionally, and courteously
- Maintain composure while working in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
- Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal and guest service skills

- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment
- Knowledge of food, wine, beer, spirits, and restaurant operations
