Job Summary
Coordinate the OASE program by training Foremen, managing field logistics for food, water, and equipment, and communicating with scouts and parents prior to arrival. Observe and coach staff throughout the season, perform written evaluations at mid-season and year-end, and model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions. Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area while adhering to SBR staff handbook policies. This role requires standing, walking, and hiking up to 9 hours daily with the ability to lift 70 pounds. Applicants must be 21+, have at least one year leading teams, and hold First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, and CPR certifications. Work hours are 45-55, with housing provided in a 10'x12' platform tent at Staff Camp.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age: 21+
- 1+ yr. leading teams
- Ability to pass Red Cross First Aid, Wilderness First Aid and CPR Certifications
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 9 hours daily
- Ability to lift/move up to 70 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
