Job Summary
O.R. Verification Specialist responsible for verifying insurance coverage for Same Day Surgery cases, ensuring benefits cover required procedures, contacting insurance companies for coverage details, coordinating with the OR Scheduling Supervisor and Peri-Operative Services leadership, scheduling surgeries for Operating Room and Endoscopy, communicating with doctor offices to obtain Lien/LOP when applicable, and accurately entering/updating patient accounts and authorizations.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma, college degree in related field preferred
- 3+ years experience in a hospital and/or surgical center setting in the Scheduling and Coordination Department
- Health care certification (i.e.Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Veterinary Assistant, Lab Assistant, Phlebotomist) desired
- Excellent computer skills
