Job Summary
O&M Crewmember - Electro-Mechanical Specialist to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair SURTASS mission equipment aboard SURTASS Vessels; standby in the SURTASS Operations Center (SOC) to support Fleet requirements, including maintaining records/logs and monitoring Naval Message Traffic. Responsibilities include operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all electro-mechanical SURTASS systems on board vessels; perform preventative and corrective maintenance; use trouble ticket applications (e.g. WILD) to log maintenance issues; maintain logistics inventory; operate shipboard test equipment and verify calibration; maintain technical library to support SURTASS equipment. Requires DoD clearance, Navy training background, DoD 8570 IAT II within 12 months, U.S. Passport, and ability to pass a Mariner's Physical.
Required Qualifications
- DoD personnel security clearance
- Three (3) years of practical hands-on experience in operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems
- Graduate of a US Navy mechanical, electrical, or electronics program, accredited trade school or apprenticeship program, or equivalent with direct training in electro-mechanical systems (including hydraulic, power, HVAC)
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification within twelve (12) months from start of work
- Must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. Passport in an expeditious manner
- Must be able to pass a Mariner's Physical per COMSCINST 600l.c. and maintain medical fitness for the position
