Job Summary
Lead Obstetrics and Gynaecology care for a Level 4 service providing comprehensive prenatal, delivery, and postnatal support to over 13,000 annual inpatients and a surrounding population of 51,300. Manage gynaecological health problems and surgeries while collaborating with midwives, nurses, paediatricians, GPs, and Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Health Service teams. Demonstrate recent clinical experience and provide leadership within a multidisciplinary team, including child and family health nurses. Maintain eligibility for the Medical Board of Australia or an overseas specialist pathway with RANZCOG recognition. Participate in an on-call roster and respond to site emergencies within a reasonable time. Commit to teaching, continuing education, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a O&G Consultant, and/or overseas trained specialist pathway with a substantially comparable outcome with RANZCOG
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time
