Job Summary
Provide real-time first-line troubleshooting support for production issues in the Cleanroom, spending 75% of time leading actions with minimal support. Use structured methodologies like 4C and 5 Whys to resolve complex challenges, document disturbances, and escalate unresolved matters to senior FLS. Maintain SPC tracking for tooling and products, manage disturbance notifications, and collaborate with quality teams on DRB/MRB processes. Mentor junior engineers, execute 'As New' validations, and make GO/NO-GO decisions on optical surface defects and interferometric data. Create OCAPs for novel troubleshooting and support vacuum chamber calibration activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters of Science degree in technical domain (e.g. mechanical/electrical/optical/chemical/industrial engineering, mechatronics, physics, or related field)
- 2+ years (BS) or (MS) with relevant internship experience in in a technical environment such as quality, manufacturing engineering, or related fields
- Hands-on technical experience related to technical troubleshooting
- Proficiency in structured problem-solving methodologies, including 4C and 8D
- Experience with SPC and data-driven process control
- Ability to document technical issues and resolutions clearly
- Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Experience in escalation management and technical documentation
- Familiarity with quality processes such as DRB/MRB and E-Scraps management
- Ability to safely work with and handle chemicals for product cleaning when needed (DI water, Acetone, Isopropyl, Chrome Etchant, KOH)
- Working knowledge and operation of white light interferometer tools
- Working knowledge of NX, Teamcenter and SAP
- Working knowledge in image/signal/data processing algorithms/statistics and software development
- Legally authorized to access controlled technology as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.)
Desired Qualifications
- Matlab script troubleshooting
- Ability to stone/wick chipped glass surfaces
- Experience with 4D 4Sight and Zygo Mx software
- Experience in optical surface defects (scratches / sleeks / digs) in accordance with MIL-PRF-13830B standards
- Develop OCAPs (Out of Control Action Plans) in response to novel troubleshooting actions
- Support vacuum chamber calibration activities as needed
- Run image processing software and scripts to extract nm scale flatness interferometric data
- Read, interpret and provide decision guidance (GO/NO-GO) on flatness interferometric data, including any necessary recovery actions
- Working experience with data processing / manual masking of the interferometer tool
- Hands-on experience cleaning critical optical surfaces
- Demonstrates strong time management skills in previous roles
- Demonstrates strong ownership towards resolving technical issues in the workcenter
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Experience with 4D 4Sight and Zygo Mx software
- Working knowledge of NX, Teamcenter and SAP
- Working knowledge in image/signal/data processing algorithms/statistics and software development
