Job Summary
Conduct health and nutrition assessments for WIC applicants and participants, identifying and documenting risk factors while providing individualized counseling and prescribing food packages. Develop and implement individual care plans, oversee high-risk care, and guide CPA and Nutrition Assistant staff. Coordinate nutrition education, including breastfeeding promotion, and refer high-risk participants to relevant health and social services. Track participant progress and document outcomes to ensure efficient assessment and education processes. This role provides leadership in developing and evaluating nutrition training for staff within a trauma-informed, equitable lens focused on community impact.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN)
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Nutrition from an accredited college or university
- Strong assessment skills in health and general nutrition
- Understanding of cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work with diverse people
- Complete 12 hours of continuing education every year
- Valid NYS driver's license with required insurance
