Job Summary
Prepare and serve food to students according to schedule while maintaining efficiency, food safety, and cost effectiveness. Store supplies, utilize safety and sanitation procedures, and maintain food service equipment including slicers, ovens, warmers, and dishwashers. Assist in daily cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen areas. Perform cashier duties to maintain efficiency, maintain computerized cashier records, and secure collected funds. Travel to various kitchen sites to cover meal services if needed and prepare meals for special events outside the regular school day.
Required Qualifications
- Able to learn computerized cashiering
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with others
- Able to read, write, perform basic kitchen math
- Work with currency
- Able to follow a recipe
- Must maintain good personal hygiene
- Must possess friendly customer service skills
- Reliable transportation
- Food Handler's card
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos written in English
- Write simple correspondence
- Communicate one-on-one and in small groups
- Maintain appropriate relationships with students and coworkers
- Add, subtract multiply and divide and perform those operations using units of US Currency, and weight, volume and distance measurements
- Comprehend and follow detailed but basic written or oral instructions
- Solve simple problems with few variables in stable conditions
- Operate a computerized cash register
- Be service and team-oriented
- Demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, outgoing personality
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Ability to frequently walk short distances
- Ability to continuously stand
- Ability to frequently bend or twist at the neck and torso
