Job Summary
Prepare and serve food to students and process cashier transactions during breakfast and lunch shifts while maintaining food safety, cost effectiveness, and efficiency. Store supplies, sanitize kitchen equipment and areas, and operate food service machinery including slicers, ovens, and dishwashers. Maintain computerized cashier records, secure collected funds, and perform meal services for special events outside the regular school day. Travel to various kitchen sites as needed and adhere to federal regulations and district policies.
Required Qualifications

- Able to follow a recipe
- Must maintain good personal hygiene

- Reliable transportation
- Must be able to frequently walk short distances
- Must be able to continuously stand
- Must be able to frequently bend or twist at the neck and torso
- Must be able to continuously grip
- Must be able to frequently reach, stoop, kneel and crouch
- Must be able to frequently lift 20-40 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to frequently use close and peripheral vision
- Must be able to consistently and regularly attend
- Must be able to operate a computerized cash register
- Must be able to comprehend and follow detailed but basic written or oral instructions
- Must be able to solve simple problems with few variables in stable conditions
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of US Currency, weight, volume and distance measurements
- Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos written in English
- Must be able to write simple correspondence
- Must be able to communicate one-on-one and in small groups
- Must be able to maintain appropriate relationships with students and coworkers
- Must be service and team-oriented
- Must demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, outgoing personality
- Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to work in temperatures that exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit
- Must be able to work in temperatures between 15-32 degrees Fahrenheit
- Must be able to tolerate a frequently quite loud work environment
- Must be able to tolerate a greater than average risk of minor burns and cuts
