Job Summary
Conduct cashiering operations during breakfast and lunch shifts while maintaining food service computerized records and securing collected funds. Operate a computerized cash register, perform basic kitchen math, and work with currency to ensure cost effectiveness and efficiency. Report unsafe procedures to managers and adhere to federal regulations and district policies. Maintain punctual attendance and exercise good personal hygiene while serving students, parents, and coworkers in a fast-paced environment with temperature extremes ranging from 15 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
Required Qualifications
- Able to learn computerized cashiering
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with others
- Able to read, write, perform basic kitchen math
- Work with currency
- Must maintain good personal hygiene
- Must possess friendly customer service skills
- Reliable transportation
- High school diploma
- Previous experience in quantity food preparation
- Professional and friendly demeanor
- Demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of individuals in a fast-paced environment
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos written in English
- Write simple correspondence
- Communicate one-on-one and in small groups
- Maintain appropriate relationships with students and coworkers
- Add, subtract multiply and divide and perform those operations using units of US Currency, and weight, volume and distance measurements
- Comprehend and follow detailed but basic written or oral instructions
- Solve simple problems with few variables in stable conditions
- Operate a computerized cash register
