Job Summary
Nutrition Worker/Custodian responsible for preparing and serving meals (breakfast, lunch, snacks) and assisting with family-style service, menu modification for special dietary needs, and maintaining clean, organized kitchen and classroom areas. Tasks include ordering from approved vendors, recording temperatures, calibrating thermometers, processing invoices, storing foods per sanitation rules, supporting nutrition activities in the classroom, and assisting with program requirements under Head Start standards. Requires ability to travel within the assigned area, operate kitchen equipment, and comply with confidentiality and safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Three years of nutrition service experience (Preferred)
- Satisfactory criminal background check prior to hire and every 5 years thereafter
- Satisfactory physical examination prior to beginning work and every five years thereafter
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and current Automobile Liability Insurance
- Satisfactory travel within assigned area
- Ability to be a mandated reporter for suspected child abuse or neglect
