Job Summary
Assist in opening the kitchen daily, oversee meal preparation according to planned menus, and transport food from the central High School kitchen to the Middle School Monday through Wednesday. Ensure proper production and serving of meals while maintaining portion control, food safety standards, and high sanitation levels in preparation and storage areas. Operate Point of Sale systems, reconcile receipts, verify supply deliveries, and rotate stock accurately. Train and direct work activities of other staff, monitor equipment temperatures, and report any safety or sanitary hazards immediately. Interact courteously with students, staff, and community members to foster a welcoming environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret simple instructions
- Ability to work in compliance with federal, state, and district policies and regulations
- Completion of any required professional development or certifications as mandated by the District
- Minimum of six (6) hours of Professional Standards Training
- Background check and fingerprinting as required by Massachusetts state regulations
