Job Summary
Conduct all aspects of patient meal service, including accurate portioning, tray assembly, and delivery to patients. Manage call center duties by answering phones, inputting selections into the computer, and documenting dietary restrictions. Perform dish room responsibilities such as breaking down soiled trays, operating the dish machine, and sanitizing equipment and work areas. Requisition, receive, and put away stock while maintaining safety and sanitation standards. Transport food carts to patient care areas and identify opportunities for waste reduction.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively in English
- Requires hand-eye coordination
- Requires manual dexterity
- Ability to distinguish food types for therapeutic diets
- Ability to function in a crowded, physically demanding fast paced environment for extended periods of time
- Knowledge or willingness to learn proper lifting techniques and safety precautions using equipment such as the dish machine, extractor, garbage disposals and potentially hazardous cleaning products
- Customer service focus
- For call center: strong phone etiquette skills
- Service orientation
- Computer skills
- Must be able to prioritize and multi-task and keep focused in a busy, noisy environment
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Food service experience
- Driver's License
- Industrial truck permit
