Job Summary
Prepare food for students and staff by following recipes, cooking to proper temperatures, and slicing meats or cheeses. Clean and process fruits and vegetables, prepare salads, and operate food service equipment while maintaining sanitation and safety standards. Replenish serving lines, place food in dishes, and use a computer to cashier meals and count collected funds. Sweep floors, mop areas, and ensure entrée pans are full. Maintain accurate counts of food served and leftovers by completing required forms. Perform other duties as assigned in the Nutrition Services department.
Required Qualifications
- State of Arizona Identity Verified (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Ability to obtain a Food Handlers Card
- Frequently, bend, stoop and lift up to 45 lbs
- Works around dangerous machinery
- Exposure to infectious disease and potential physical harm
- Periods of prolonged standing
- Knowledge of appropriate food handling methods and techniques
- Knowledge of district food service policies and procedures
- Knowledge of food service operations including sanitation standards and food preparation
- Knowledge of food service equipment
- Skill establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
- Ability to effectively communicate
Desired Qualifications
- Education and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform essential duties
- One (1) year food handling experience (preferred)
