Job Summary
Prepare and serve food within menu and dietary guidelines while maintaining knowledge of recipe ingredients to address allergy requests. Monitor food temperatures during cooking, holding, and storage to prevent cross-contamination and ensure proper labeling and equipment storage. Follow therapeutic diet modifications, including allergy restrictions, and explain basic orders to patients and family members. Collect food preferences, distribute them to kitchen staff for menu planning, and navigate electronic health records to access diet orders and reports. Perform general cleaning of equipment, work areas, and empty trash cans. Requires one year of food service experience and a High School Diploma or GED.
Required Qualifications
- One year of food service experience
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Food Handlers Permit (if required by state, county or local health code, must be obtained within 30 days of hire)
- Ability to exert up to 50lbs force occasionally
- Ability to exert up to 20lbs frequently
- Ability to exert up to 10lbs constantly
