Job Summary
Conduct clerical and receptionist functions to support client care within a team-based environment. Transcribe and process physicians' orders, coordinate appointments and transportation, and arrange client tests while receiving results. Manage client charts, admissions, and discharges; perform timekeeping, compile statistics, and distribute reports using relevant software. Maintain stationery inventory and ensure filing systems are organized. Prioritize requests and communicate effectively with other departments and hospitals. Requires Grade 12, medical terminology training, and one year of related experience. Successful applicants must complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12
- medical terminology
- graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program
- one year's recent, related experience
- equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to keyboard 40 w.p.m
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Ability to utilize a variety of computer software applications
- Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check
