Job Summary
Transcribe physicians' orders, coordinate client appointments and transportation, and arrange client tests while maintaining accurate charts and filing systems. Manage stationery inventory, compile statistics, and distribute technical reports using computer software. Communicate with other departments and hospitals to prioritize requests and support a client-centered care model. This role requires Grade 12 education, medical terminology knowledge, and a Nursing Unit Clerk program graduation.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12
- medical terminology
- graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program
- one year's recent, related experience
- equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to keyboard 40 w.p.m.
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Ability to utilize a variety of computer software applications
- Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check
- all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections
