Job Summary
Provide nursing patient care services in the hospital and emergency department, including admitting, transferring, and discharging patients while verifying insurance and processing payments. Monitor patient status hourly by obtaining vital signs, observing for unusual conditions, and documenting intake, output, and total percentages. Perform personal care, clean and sterilize equipment and rooms, answer call lights, and transport patients safely. Adhere to departmental policies, maintain confidentiality, and ensure adequate supply inventory at the nurses' station.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to lift up to 52 pounds
- Ability to perform pushing, pulling, reaching, and bending
- Ability to walk and stand for moderate periods
- Knowledge of patient care services
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with operating computers
- Ability to utilize computer systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work well with other employees
- Ability to follow standard precautions when providing direct patient care or handling potentially infectious materials
Desired Qualifications
- One year experience in a medical setting
- Medical Assistant certification
