Job Summary
Conduct nursing patient care services for the hospital and emergency department, including admitting, transferring, and discharging patients. Monitor patient status hourly by obtaining vital signs, tracking intake and output, and documenting changes or unusual conditions to the charge nurse. Perform personal care, clean and sterilize equipment and patient rooms, and answer call lights promptly. Admit patients into the computer system for in-patient or outpatient status when the business office is closed, verify insurance coverage, and process payments. Maintain confidentiality, restock supplies, and follow standard precautions while working moderate periods of walking, standing, and lifting up to 52 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to lift up to 52 pounds
- Ability to push, pull, reach, and bend
- Ability to walk and stand for moderate periods
- Knowledge of patient care services
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with operating computers
- Ability to utilize computer systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality on a daily basis
- Ability to work well with other employees
- Ability to follow standard precautions when providing direct patient care or handling potentially infectious materials
Desired Qualifications
- One year experience in a medical setting
- Medical Assistant certification
