Job Summary
Supervise nursing and clerical staff while providing the highest level of care to inmates/detainees and maintaining a safe, secure workplace. Manage staff scheduling, monitor overtime, and maintain relationships with correctional staff, nurses, contract providers, and agencies. Assist with recruiting, onboarding, performance evaluation, and audits of medical records, narcotic counts, and sick calls. Ensure adequate medical supplies, verify training for medical orderlies, and monitor serious medical conditions with potential life-threatening or liability issues. Adhere to industry and company accreditation policies. Requires an RN license, two years of direct experience, and supervisory competence in crisis intervention and psychiatric care. Full-time position with a salary of $150,000/year at GEO, a global leader in evidenced-based rehabilitation and correctional services.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an approved program
- graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- current, unrestricted license to practice as Registered Nurse in the state the facility is located
- Maintains a current copy of license on file at the facility at all times
- United States citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident
- ability to work without direct, immediate supervision in performing nursing diagnosis
- ability to provide appropriate follow through treatment
