Job Summary
Supervise clinical care planning and delivery processes by performing rounds, assessing residents upon admission, and implementing physician orders. Manage daily staff activities through direct leadership, prioritization, and the development of clinical competencies while maintaining accurate documentation of skin/wound reports, ADLs, and medication checks. Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and third-party agencies by enforcing the bargaining unit contract and monitoring QAPI processes. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to maintain a safe environment and deliver education to residents, families, and caregivers.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years' experience in nursing
- 1-2 years in an acute/long term care setting
- Degree from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN or BS in related field
- Current New York State RN license and registration in good standing
- Proven patient assessment skills
- Adherence to best practice nursing care
- Ability to supervise and guide staff while carrying out the duties of an RN
- Proficiency in the care planning process
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, residents, and families from diverse backgrounds who may have physical, sensory and mental impairments
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
- Ability and knowledge to respond in emergency situations
- Ability to analyze problems, plan resolution strategies, implement solutions and evaluate outcomes
- Proficiency in computer programs and ability to learn new software rapidly
