Job Summary
Supervise nursing staff and Quality of Life Specialists to ensure quality, compassionate resident care in Assisted Living and Memory Care. Provide direct resident care activities including assessments, planning, implementing, and evaluation of nursing care. Monitor complex resident health status, develop care plans, and respond promptly to call systems and emergencies. Assist with treatments, vital signs, and medication orders while ensuring accurate narcotic counts and charting documentation. Communicate with physicians, families, and the interdisciplinary team to address resident conditions and coordinate appointments. Maintain Department of Health regulatory requirements and facility safety standards. Cover shifts as needed and assist with staff recruitment and orientation.
Required Qualifications
- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
- CPR Certification
- Two (2) years of supervisory/management experience
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend the English language
- Ability to learn and work with the specific needs of those residents suffering from Alzheimer's disease and/or other related dementias
- Willingness to be available for any/all emergencies regarding the facility
- Ability to make independent decisions when situations warrant such action
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products and the ability to work with an electronic medical record system
- Must display patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a cheerful disposition
- Must be willing to learn new techniques and principles and willing to incorporate them into existing resident care practices
- Must have knowledge of basic nursing care techniques
- Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills

- Doctor's statement verifying free from communicable disease
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing
