Job Summary
Ensure federal, state, and local regulations are followed while making rounds to assess patient needs and evaluate staff clinical capabilities. Serve as a consultant and resource person for nursing staff, functioning as the primary contact for residents, physicians, and families. Assign nursing personnel based on patient acuity and staff capabilities, entering pertinent resident information on the 24-hour report. Assist with staffing schedules, orient new personnel, and counsel staff on disciplinary matters as warranted. Participate in nursing leadership groups, QAPI projects, and educational initiatives to implement department objectives. Evaluate accidents, injuries, and emergencies for residents, staff, or visitors, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and confidentiality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an approved registered professional nursing program
- Active RN license in state of Illinois
- Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension) to use medical terminology
- CPR certification Accredited by American Heart Association
Desired Qualifications
- BSN or equivalent preferred
