Job Summary
Adjust staffing by assessing patients' needs and assign or re-assign staff based on competencies. Investigate and complete required reports, intervene in administrative problems, and enhance patient satisfaction by addressing family concerns and initiating corrections. Respond to emergency calls including fires, codes, disaster drills, and trauma alerts while providing leadership in accordance with department goals. Confers with administrators on call, chief nursing officers, and directors for additional guidance. Ensure purposeful rounding is completed, communicate concerns with charge nurses, and complete death report sheets and terminal wean process notes. Streamline processes to minimize resource utilization and maximize efficiency. Available for questions, ideas, and concerns.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
- New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Leadership ability
- Knowledge of computer skills, outlook, word
- Problem solving
- Team building techniques
- Effective communication skills
- Organizational and time management
- Knowledge of department policies, standards and age competencies
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements: State Education Department, DOH, Infection Control, OSHA
