Job Summary
Nursing Supervisor PACU leads staff within the post-anesthesia care unit, including assessment, evaluation, discipline, coaching and monitoring of team members. Drives operational efficiency and regulatory readiness, assures clinical competency, and applies the nursing process to patient care. Ensures care, equipment and services meet patient needs and aligns with Palomar Health policies and standards. Requires English proficiency, knowledge of the California Nurse Practice Act and ANA ethics/standards, and proficiency with basic computer skills and MS Office. Maintains customer service standards, promotes quality improvement, and participates in chart reviews and performance-improvement activities. Previous supervisory experience and California RN licensure are required; ACLS and BLS certifications are required. Preferred education includes a Bachelor's or Master’s in Nursing, with 3–5 years of progressive supervisory experience.
Required Qualifications
- Current CA RN License
- ACLS (American Heart Association recognized Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS - Healthcare Provider (American Heart Association)
- Minimum Education: As required by certification and/or licensure; Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Nursing
- Minimum Experience: 3 years related clinical experience or 2 years related clinical experience with Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Preferred Experience: 3 - 5 years progressive supervisory experience
- Knowledge of California Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards
- Ability to speak and read English at a proficient level
- Knowledge of standard office equipment and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
