Job Summary
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately. Administer prescribed medications and treatments while preparing equipment for physician-led cardiac procedures. Assess and manage complex patient needs transitioning from intensive care, documenting history and notifying supervisors of critical status changes. Initiate individualized patient education plans focusing on cardiac health and lifestyle modifications. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care while adhering to infection control and regulatory standards. Respond to life-saving situations based on specific nursing protocols. Requires one year of recent Stepdown RN experience, PCCN certification, and a valid Illinois RN license.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN
- Current Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
- Must be able to move equipment (50-100lbs)
- Must be able to push, pull, and bend
- Must have the ability to grasp
- Must have the ability to perform fine manipulation
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally
- Must be able to work without assistance from other personnel
- Must possess visual acuity
- Must be able to effectively communicate
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers
- Must be able to meet deadlines under pressure
