Job Summary
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately. Administer prescribed medications and treatments, prepare equipment for cardiac procedures, and maintain awareness of patient comfort and safety needs. Observe patients, record significant conditions, and notify the physician of cardiac status or response to interventions. Respond to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocols. Document nursing history and physical assessments, initiate patient education plans focusing on cardiac health, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team. Ensure adherence to hospital safety protocols and infection control guidelines. Requires one year of recent Stepdown RN experience, PCCN certification, and a valid RN license.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN
- Current Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
