Job Summary
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately. Administer prescribed medications and treatments with a focus on cardiac care, while preparing equipment and aiding physicians during procedures. Assess complex patient needs transitioning from intensive care, document history and physical assessments, and initiate individualized patient education plans regarding cardiac health. Respond to life-saving situations based on nursing protocols and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, patient-centered care. Maintain awareness of patient comfort and safety needs while adhering to hospital safety and infection control guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN
- Current Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
