Job Summary
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately to life-saving situations. Administer prescribed medications and treatments, prepare equipment for cardiac procedures, and document nursing assessments for assigned telemetry patients. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to manage complex patient needs as they transition from intensive care, while initiating individualized education plans focusing on cardiac health and lifestyle modifications. Maintain awareness of patient comfort and safety, adhering to hospital protocols and regulatory standards. Requires one year of recent Stepdown RN experience and PCCN certification. Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN
- Current Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
- Must be able to move about
- Must be able to move equipment (50-100lbs)
- Must be able to push
- Must be able to pull
- Must be able to bend
- Must have the ability to grasp
- Must have the ability to perform fine manipulation
- Must have the ability to push/pull
- Must have the ability to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment

- Must be able to prepare equipment and aid physician during cardiac-related procedures and examinations
- Must be able to maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
- Must be able to observe patient, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisor or physician of patient's cardiac status and response to interventions
- Must be able to respond to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies
- Must be able to initiate patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications
- Must be able to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients
- Must be able to adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Must be available for a 13-week travel assignment in Washington, District Of Columbia
