Job Summary
Nursing Professional Practice Leader I (PPL I) in Cath Lab drives professional development and learning within the nursing specialty. The role acts as a clinical resource and coach, partnering with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high standards of care, facilitate ongoing learning, support orientation and onboarding, manage competency development, and advance role development and education. Responsibilities include facilitating learning across areas of responsibility (inquiry, competency management, orientation/onboarding, role development, education), serving as a learning facilitator and change agent, and collaborating to promote evidence-based practice, staff growth, and professional certification. Requires an RN with Texas licensure, BLS, and Magnet ANCC-recognized certification; a Master’s in education is preferred. Travel may be required within the Houston Metropolitan area; exempt status with FLSA. The role emphasizes leadership, coaching, and partnership to achieve departmental and system-level learning goals and outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited school of Nursing
- Master’s degree in education field preferred
- RN - Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure - Texas Board of Nursing_PSV Compact Licensure – Must obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days (if establishing Texas residency)
- BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) - American Heart Association and Magnet ANCC-recognized certification (HM) within 6 months
